Discuss the tutoring fit

Our service is one-on-one online academic tutoring with tutors certified in special education. North Carolina families can discuss reading, math , dyslexia-related reading needs or academic support for a student with ADHD.

Approval and educator fit are different questions. Before choosing a tutor, ask about experience with your child’s learning needs, relevant training, the proposed instruction and how progress will be communicated. Confirm availability and current tutoring terms with our team.

A provider listing is the beginning. The educator match matters.

At Special Ed Resource, your experience as a parent helps guide what happens next. After the free consultation, families who choose to begin have a deeper conversation about learning history, strengths, interests and goals. You speak with the matched educator before they work with your child. Introductory tutoring then informs a written starting plan that we review with you.

That is how we make individualized support specific: understand the child, consider the educator fit, explore starting skills and keep you involved. See the steps in our process and meet members of the SER team.

Which questions should go where?

  • Ask Special Ed Resource: What academic support do you offer? Which educator may fit my child? What schedule and tutoring terms are available?
  • Ask NCSEAA: Questions about ESA+ requirements, eligibility, permitted expenses, account rules or program payment requirements.

For program information, use NCSEAA’s tutoring page and official contact page . We do not provide program-requirement guidance on this site or promise that an individual expense will be approved.

What will the free consultation help you decide?

We’ll listen to what you want help with, explain our online tutoring process and discuss whether the service fits your family. The call is your first conversation with us; an educator match and written learning plan develop later if you choose to begin.

Describe your child’s current learning goal, an example of a difficult task and your preferred schedule. A full school record or payment-account details are not needed in an initial inquiry. Our tutor comparison checklist can help you keep track of the questions you want answered.
